स्पिक मैके आन्दोलन के राष्ट्रीय कार्यकारिणी सदस्य जे.पी.भटनागर के अनुसार चित्तौड़गढ़ के राजकीय विद्यालयों में एक से छ दिसंबर तक सत्रीय क्षत्रिय नृत्य की कारशालाएं और प्रदर्शन होंगे। इन प्रस्तुतियों का निर्देशन हिन्दुस्तान की युवा नृत्यांगना अन्वेषा महंत करेंगी।रोजाना दो कार्यक्रम होंगे।अन्वेषा मूल रूप से गुवाहटी में ही पली और बड़ी हुई है।नृत्य में शोधार्थी अन्वेषा ने यह तालीम संगीत नाटक अकादमी से सम्मानित गुरु  घनाकांत बोरा से सिखा है।साल दो हजार एक से नृत्य की एकल प्रस्तुतियां दे रहीं अन्वेषा दूरदर्शन की ए ग्रेड कलाकार है। इधर स्पिक मैके चित्तौड़ इकाई की मासिक बैठक छ दिसंबर शाम पाँच बजे सेन्ट्रल एकडमी सीनियर सेकंडरी स्कूल में होगी।सचिव संयम पुरी ने बताया कि आगामी ग्यारह जनवरी को विरासत आयोजन के तहत ही कोलकाता की प्रसिद्द बाउल गायिका पार्वती बाउल अपनी प्रस्तुति देगी।स्पिक मैके का तीसरा वैश्विक अधिवेशन इकत्तीस मई से छ जून तक आईआईटी मुम्बई में होने जा रहा है जिसके लिए अभी से पंजीकरण खुल गया है।पंजीकरण के बाद साक्षात्कार द्वारा प्रतिभागियों का चयन किया जाएगा


A dedicated and promising young exponent of Sattriya Dance, Anwesa Mahanta has received accolades from the art connoisseurs and scholars for the grace and liveliness of her dance and the expressiveness of her abhinaya.

Belonging to the Vaisnava monastery of Assam, Sattra, Anwesa started her formal lessons in Sattriya from her early childhood under the guidance of the eminent maestro and a Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Bayanacharya Ghanakanta Bora. Anwesa has been learning, researching and interpreting Sattriya dance, music and theatre since two decades.

She has been an active performer since 2001, presenting Sattriya in its solo form. Anwesa has also worked on many choreographic presentations of her own under the supervision of her mentor. She has performed extensively across India and also aborad, appearing at many prestigious dance festivals. She is an ‘A’ grade artist in Sattriya dance of Doordarshan and an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), India International Rural Cultural Centre (IRCEN). Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. programme in Performing Arts and Oral Tradition from the University of Delhi under the guidance of eminent folklorist, Prof. P.C Pattanaik.

Born to Ms. Minati Choudhury,a noted litterateur of the region who also served in Doordarshan and Prof Pradip Jyoti Mahanta, an erudite scholar in the field of Cultural History of Assam and Northeastern India and currently, Professor and Head in the Dept. of Cultural Studies, Tezpur University. Anwesa has been pursuing dance, not merely as a pastime but as a chosen path of her growing and devotional journey. During this journey over the years she has been trying with utmost sincerity to enlarge the performance canvas and expand her repertoire constantly drawing resource material from the vast literary corpus of the Vaisnava Renaissance of Assam. She has been giving lecture demonstrations and presented papers in several places and institutions with an aim to reach out to more and more children , scholars and art lovers. The Pragjyoti International Dance Festival , a festival of young classical dancers, first of its kind in Assam, is one of her attempts through KALPA (A Society for Promotion of Literature, Art, Culture and Social Harmony) which allow the young exponents to speak and share their thoughts and ideas through dance and communicate to the youths the relevance of Indian dance in the contemporary world.

She has thus carved a space in the Sattriya Dance world with her understandings, research, interpretations and outstanding performances drawing applause and appreciation from both the media and the art cognoscenti and established an unfailing record of excellence in her performance career.

"I perceive the world and its cosmos through dance and …and share with you the positive energy of Bhakti philosophy radiating from the glorious 500 years old tradition"- as the dancer says.

Anwesa has worked on the area of performance studies in the context Ankiya Bhaona, the Vaisnava theatre form of Assam, Hybridity and Performance, Kirtan Ghosa as text of literature orally handed down through performances, Bihu as a cultural phenomenon, and and so on. Her area of research is also extended in exploring the richness and vivacity of the performance traditions prevailing amidst diverse ethnic groups residing in Assam and thus the journey of researching the varied aspects of Assamese Cultural Heritage continues.

She also presented research papers in National and International Seminars and has given lecture demonstrations on variegated dimensions of Sattriya art and culture, with ICCR, SPICMACAY, IRCEN, Sahitya Akademi and also with other prestigious organizations in various places of the country and abroad. She is invited for workshops to teach and interact with students in different parts of the country. She also contributes articles and research papers in monthly journal like Prantik etc. and Newspaper dailies like The Assam Tribune and Aamar Asam featuring music and dance traditions of Assam.

Anwesa is the Jt. Secretary and Festival Director of KALPA , A Society for Promotion of Literature Art, Culture and Social Harmony and coordinates Pragjyoti International Dance Festival, a Festival of Young Classical Dancers in Guwahati. Since 4 years she has been conducting and directing this International Dance Festival which has earned national and international accolades. As a part of the festival, symposia, workshops, exhibitions, open dance forums and seminars are also being organized which in a way have contributed towards a better understanding between India and the Asia-Pacific regions in the soils of Assam extending thereby the ideals of peace and harmony through the aesthetics of Indian heritage.With Kalpa, Anwesa has tried to reach out to the young minds and share with them an exchange of ideas through the medium of cultural expressions.
